From 2002 to 2013, the laboratory has been focusing on the application of computer vision and machine learning in detection, tracking and classification or identification technology as the main research and development direction; from 2014 to now, the laboratory has begun to focus on computer vision and deep learning. , and the technology of detection, tracking and classification or identification is the main axis, which is applied to the field of intelligent machinery and medical equipment. The main axis of these technologies is roughly oriented to 5 research directions 1) Deep learning 2) Using vision to guide robotic arms 3) Automatic Optical inspection 4) Combining stereo vision and structured light for 3D measurement or reconstruction 5) Embedded computer vision; in the near future 2021/11 ~ in industrial cooperation with Intel, Qisda, NCKU Medical Imaging Center, to develop deep learning application algorithms for use in Lung nodule detection; also cooperated with Chunghwa Telecom, JORJIN Technologies, and Light Matrix Inc. to perform motion analysis and AR augmented reality technology through 5G visual deep learning.
