In recent years, our laboratory has devoted ourself to researching the related topics of marine renewable energy structures. In response to the trend of renewable energy, it is the first academic team in Taiwan to study floating wind power, including discuss the stability of different platform types, how to optimize the design of the mooring system to restrain the movement of the upper structure, and the dynamic cable analysis to overcome the problem of water depth and transmit power to shore.
Due to the long-term cooperation with the Tainan Hydraulic Laboratory, the main experiments of the team are carried out in the water tank of Tainan Hydraulic Laboratory. The model scale can be scaled to nearly 1:20, which is undoubtedly a great advantage for observation of physical phenomenon; In the simulation part, a total of four credible software in the ocean engineering industry were purchased, which can be interactively verified with experimental results to achieve the best research results.
