Lab of Molecular Genetics (MG Lab) led by Prof. Tzong-Yueh Chen mainly focuses on the research of viruses that cause high mortality in marine cultivated fish species, from virus structure analysis, fish epidemiology to host immune mechanism, with industrial applications, to overcome the bottleneck of aquaculture. Including the analysis of the crystal structure of fish nervous necrosis virus, microfluidic detection platform of virus diagnosis, the analysis of virus infection pathways and fish anti-viral immune mechanism; and further develop the immune-inhibition technique to promote the growth of cultured animals which benefits global food supply. In addition, the Translational Center for Marine Biotechnology, An-Nan Campus cooperates with experts in different fields to develop an artificial intelligence fry production system. With the power of artificial intelligence technology, it helps to stabilize the breeding status of fry and ultimately increase fry production.
