The " Laboratory of Offshore Geotechnics and Energy (LOGE) " is the only team in the Department of Hydraulic and Ocean Engineering of Cheng Kung University that is engaged in soil mechanics and underwater foundation engineering-related research. We have long been committed to soil mechanics dynamic tests and selection of geotechnical parameters, the establishment of marine soil engineering geological models, marine meteorological data collection, seismic force evaluation, seabed soil liquefaction potential analysis, underwater foundation design and installation, and health diagnosis of wind turbine support structures. At present, more than 50 research projects related to offshore wind power have been implemented, and professional courses related to the development of offshore wind farms in the industry and various universities and trains more than 25 students to participate in the wind power industry. The " Laboratory of Offshore Geotechnics and Energy (LOGE) " is the most representative university research unit in Taiwan engaged in underwater support structures research of offshore wind turbines.

From Oct. 2021 to Mar. 2022, LOGE and Ørsted collaborate successfully to complete the world's first shaking table test of the Suction Bucket Jacket foundation (SBJ). 「Laboratory of Offshore Geotechnics and Energy」(LOGE) engaged with offshore wind turbine foundations and is the most representative university research academic unit in Taiwan.
