The main focus of ACVLab is computer vision and its applications based on machine learning. In recent years, due to the rise of deep learning (so-called artificial intelligence), how to adopt deep learning to improve the performance of various tasks has become the primary issue, such as self-driving cars, robots, various object recognition, image, and video content restoration and protection.
In order to improve the gap between the students' future careers and skills learned from university, under the leadership of Prof. Hsu, the ACVLab has won more than 20 international competition awards in the past three years, which can not only strengthen the students' practical ability, add favorable evidence to their resumes, but also strengthen the students' confidence.
The main force of ACVLab is to introduce machine learning/deep learning into different applications of computer vision, and train students with a high degree of practical and application ability in deep learning, with the goal of being able to become talented people in the industry.
The current research focus of our laboratory is divided into two major aspects: research and practice, as follows: detection of fake images/videos, an advanced vision system for autonomous cars, low-shot deep learning, enhancement of video and video content, social media information analysis, and medical image signal analysis.
