ABSTRACT

Attention affects the effectiveness of learning, medical rehabilitation and also occurrences of car accidents. Accordingly, daily measurement of attention is necessary. EEG extraction of attention is currently the most popular way, but it is still expensive and inconvenient because that it is contact-type measuring method. That is, other methods of estimating attention will gradually get valued in the future. In my opinion, the analysis of facial features is a potential and important method , since that it has been experimented in many different ways and was convinced that it is strongly related to attention .
This research will explore the framework of estimating attention. By using a camera to shoot human faces, we can use the publicly-used facial positioning point library to capture face features. Through the publicly-used image processing library, we can also focus on the human eye features. After that, the attention will be estimated by machine learning and the reliability will be verified by the brain wave signal that has been captured by the brain wave instrument. Last but not least, we will finally obtain the attention level of people watching the video. Our target is not only to reduce costs, but also to build an equipment that tests attention in non-contact way, and check our attention state more easily and conveniently.
